The transformation of a historic working farm in New York into a multi-purpose estate was a long and intricate process that involved both design and construction. The site, which is surrounded by farm fields and the Peconic Bay, inspired the exterior design to blend seamlessly into the landscape while paying homage to the site's rich historic tradition. We collaborated extensively on the site design to create unique landscape moments and gathering spaces using various plantings.

Samuels and Steelman worked closely with Hadley Wiggins to retain the existing truss system of the barn while upgrading the finishes. The use of powder blue color on the floors and kitchen millwork adds a touch of whimsy and creativity to the historic space.

The existing barn underwent a gut renovation and was transformed into a pool house designed for summer entertainment and winter relaxation.
